PHENOKIND PRIVACY POLICY
Last Updated: 15 September 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Phenokind Pvt. Ltd. (“Phenokind”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, discloses and otherwise processes information when you use the Phenokind Platform.
This document should be read together with our Terms of Use and Community Guidelines.
2. Information We Collect
We may collect information you provide directly, including account details, profile information, preferences, likes and dislikes, ratings, reviews, recommendations, saved items, search inputs, communications and other content.
We may also collect information generated through your use of the Platform, such as interactions, viewed or selected content, device information, IP address, browser or app information, approximate location where enabled, and technical logs.
We may receive information from service providers, business partners and other users where permitted by law.
3. Preference Information
Phenokind is built around user-controlled preference information. You may tell us explicitly about your tastes, interests, dislikes, priorities and decision criteria.
For example, you may tell us that you like black coffee but do not like cappuccino. We may use such explicit information to make recommendations more relevant to you.
You may provide preferences at different levels of specificity. The more information you choose to provide, the more personalized the Platform may become.
4. Inferred Preferences
We may also infer preferences from your interactions with the Platform. Inferences may include patterns relating to categories, attributes, products, places, experiences or other interests.
Inferences are probabilistic and may be wrong. Where the Platform provides controls to review, correct, suppress or delete inferred information, you may use those controls.
5. Preference Similarity and Matching
A core function of Phenokind is identifying potentially meaningful similarity between users' preferences.
We may compare Preference Information, including explicit preferences and permitted activity signals, to identify users whose tastes may be aligned. This may be used to improve recommendations, surface relevant reviews or choices, and enable features in which users learn from people with similar preferences.
Similarity is not a statement that two users are identical, nor is it an endorsement of one user by Phenokind.
6. How We Use Information
We may use information to provide and personalize the Platform; create and manage accounts; generate recommendations; identify preference similarity; display relevant reviews and content; improve algorithms and products; detect fraud, abuse and manipulation; communicate with you; provide customer support; comply with legal obligations; protect rights and safety; and perform analytics and research.
Where required by law, we will rely on appropriate legal bases or consent mechanisms.
7. Sharing Information
We may share information with service providers and technology vendors that help operate the Platform; business partners where necessary for requested functionality; professional advisers; regulators or law-enforcement authorities where legally required; and other parties in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring or sale of assets.
We do not disclose personal information merely because another user has similar tastes unless the relevant feature and your settings permit such visibility.
8. Public and Community Information
Information you choose to make public or share through community features, including reviews, ratings, recommendations and certain profile or preference information, may be visible to other users and potentially accessible through public or semi-public areas of the Platform.
Do not post information that you expect to remain private.
9. Aggregated and De-identified Information
We may create aggregated, statistical or de-identified information from information we collect. Where permitted by law, we may use such information for analytics, research, product development, benchmarking and other legitimate purposes.
10. Advertising and Commercial Uses
Phenokind may use information to measure and personalize advertising or commercial content, subject to applicable law and your available controls. Sponsored content may be displayed on the Platform and will be identified where required.
11. Third-Party Services
The Platform may integrate with third-party services. Those services may collect or process information under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review the applicable third-party terms and policies before using integrated services.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. No security system can guarantee absolute security.
13. Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including providing services, maintaining records, resolving disputes, enforcing agreements, preventing fraud and complying with legal obligations. Specific retention periods may vary by category and legal requirements.
14. Your Rights and Choices
Subject to applicable law, you may have rights relating to access, correction, updating, deletion, withdrawal of consent, grievance redressal and other controls over personal information.
The exact rights, processes and timelines applicable to you will depend on the law in force and the nature of the information concerned. Requests may be made through the contact details below.
15. Withdrawal of Consent
Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent through available controls or by contacting us. Withdrawal will not affect processing lawfully conducted before withdrawal and may limit our ability to provide certain features.
16. Children
The Platform is intended for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly permit children under the applicable minimum age to create accounts. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us improperly, please contact us.
17. International Transfers
Information may be processed or stored in countries other than India where our service providers or infrastructure are located. Where required, we will use appropriate safeguards and comply with applicable data-transfer requirements.
18. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We may use cookies, SDKs, pixels, local storage and similar technologies to operate the Platform, remember preferences, understand usage and measure performance. Controls may be available through your device, browser or Platform settings.
19. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will provide notice of material changes where required by law. The “Last Updated” date will indicate when the Policy was most recently revised.
